  1. Stranger Things (2016)
    • This 1980's based tv series is about the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a young boy in a small town in Indiana. The motifs of grief and the pursuit of truth are what attracts Macduff the most to this show. Throughout the series, one sees how grief affects each of the characters. Young boys lose one of their best friends, a mother loses her son, and a sister loses her brother. Macduff lost his children and wife and because of this, he experiences grief. He openly reveals how much the loss affects him to Malcolm. Though Malcolm tells Macduff to "dispute it like a man," Macduff is still a father and husband who is grieving. He can empathize with the characters from this TV series. In the show, the characters are also constantly looking for the truth about the disappearance. Macduff seeks the truth as well. He seeks to expose Macbeth for his wrongdoings, and restore order.   
  2. Reign (2015) *SPOILERS*
    • Macduff would enjoy this show because he shares similarities with characters in the show. This show takes place in the same time period that Macbeth would, and it revolves around Mary, Queen of Scotts. In the show, the Dauphin, Francis, kills his mad father, committing regicide. A corrupt noble, Narcisse, discovers the truth of this and uses that information to ruin King Francis. Though Macduff is far from corrupt, he discover's the truth about Macbeth's regicide, and destroys his tyrannical reign with that knowledge. Lord Narcisse also loses his son, after Queen Mary ordered his death. Macduff loses his family from Macbeth's orders. Macduff would understand Lord Narcisse well, though his morals will align more with Francis'. This pick for Macduff, reveals that he was wronged, but he is a force for good. He is the avenger hero of Macbeth.
  3. The Flash (2016)
    • In Macbeth, there is the classic good vs. evil story, much like any superhero story. A man falls because of his ambition and desire for power, and a hero rises from adversity to oppose this evil. In The Flash, a man loses his mom, and his dad is imprisoned from a childhood tragedy, but after he gained a new ability, he fights evil for the sake of justice. Macduff is the hero of his story too. Macbeth is corrupted and transformed into a tyrannical king. Macbeth wrongs Macduff, and Macduff forms a resistance against Macbeth. Macduff kills Macbeth, and then justice is restored, and good triumphs over evil. 
  4. Revenge (2015)
    • This show is just what is seems: a story about revenge. Revenge is just what Macduff wants. This show is about a woman whose father was imprisoned and killed wrongfully. She seeks revenge on those who brought about the fate of her father while also trying to find peace within herself. Macduff's family was wrongfully murdered and he want's to kill the person responsible: Macbeth. This show lets Macduff explore his feelings of rage and betrayal, and sparks his desire for vengeance.

Hyde: "He had in his hand a heavy cane ...the maid fainted ." (Stevenson 17). Jekyll: " To this rule ... we had agreed to drop." (Stevenson 15). I n the excerpt about Hyde, Stevenson uses violent diction when he describes him. He uses verbs like "stamping," "brandishing," "broke out," "clubbed" "trampling" and "hailing." The words that Stevenson chooses reveals the violent nature of Mr. Hyde. The maid and the gentleman react with fear to his actions. The gentleman "took a step back" and "at the horror of theses sights and sounds, the maid fainted." Hyde is characterized as a violent man who is to be feared. Stevenson further characterizes him as a monster. He refers to nature to portray Hyde as a monster. Hyde clubbed the gentleman "to the earth", he had "ape-like fury", and he hailed "down a storm."
