Stranger Things (2016) This 1980's based tv series is about the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a young boy in a small town in Indiana. The motifs of grief and the pursuit of truth are what attracts Macduff the most to this show. Throughout the series, one sees how grief affects each of the characters. Young boys lose one of their best friends, a mother loses her son, and a sister loses her brother. Macduff lost his children and wife and because of this, he experiences grief. He openly reveals how much the loss affects him to Malcolm. Though Malcolm tells Macduff to "dispute it like a man," Macduff is still a father and husband who is grieving. He can empathize with the characters from this TV series. In the show, the characters are also constantly looking for the truth about the disappearance. Macduff seeks the truth as well. 1. Why do people who are not "evil" take the first step into evil? What, for instance, is involved in taking that first step "down the primrose path to the everlasting bonfire" (Macbeth, 2.3)? What are the consequences of the individual choosing evil (particularly the internal consequences)? Use examples from the text to support your opinion.

4. What does Mr. Brocklehurst’s analogy between the ill-prepared breakfast and the “sufferings of the primitive Christians…the torments of martyrs…the exhortations of our blessed Lord Himself” reveal about his character? The ad uses imagery to promote the product. The ad shows a tropical location. There is a sunny beach in the background and a tree and other greenery in the corner. A bare-chested man is sitting on top of a white horse that is standing on the white sand. The man is wearing tight white pants and a collared shirt tied around his neck. Mr. Whipple, Toilet Paper Salesman I have been addressed by all of these nicknames and yes, I have heard of Whipple's Disease, I have seen the Mr. Whipple commercials, I do realize my name rhymes with nipple, and please, don't ever call it the Whipple and Nae Nae. I've been called by my last name more times than my first, partly because having a top ten name makes it difficult to differentiate the multiple Jessica's in each of my classes, and also because most people find my last name phonically pleasing. And so, I find my last name to be a bigger part of my identity than my first name. I have no clue of the etymology of my last name, but I can tell you that there was some guy a couple hundred years ago with the last name Whipple who signed the Declaration of Independence (I wonder if he had a nickname). Wing Young Huie. Walter . 2012. Minneapolis, MN. This photograph from Wing Young Huie's collection, We are the Other , shows a young man sitting on a bench. He holds a sign that reads, "Equality for the undocumented." It seems like he is waiting for a bus because he is sitting at a bench with an ad on the back, which is characteristic of bus stops. It can be inferred from the bag on his shoulders, his young appearance, and his casual dress that he is going to school. At closer examination of the picture, the young man's face portrays a lot of emotion. His eyes are looking down in a blank stare, his mouth is drooping down in a slight frown, his chin is pulled down and his posture is slouched. This conveys feelings of worry, shame, and despair. It is possible that these emotions could arise from a variety of influences and factors, but the young man is holding a sign, which clarifies the cause of his emotional distress.
